“Yeah, well let’s see if you can back that up! Me and my boys will take you right now!

Guys?

Come on guys…..

Guys…. where’d you go?”

I’m sure we’ve all seen the scenario played out on television. There is a confrontation, the guy is backed up by some of his buddies and when it comes time to fight, his buddies split and he’s left standing there – likely to take a beating.

Have you ever been let down? Sure you have. I have – even by church people. *GASP* Yes, it’s true. Church goers are not perfect either. And you know what? I have let people down. *GASP, GASP*

I’ll give you a moment to catch your breath before I move on……

Here’s the clincher – You, my friend, my beloved reader of the blog, have most likely let someone down, as well. Yes, it’s true, and as you read this, you may have even thought of the person (or people) that it happened to. (I know I thought of someone as I was typing.) Unfortunately, we are not perfect and we will make mistakes that cause us to fall short of other’s expectations of us. But there is one who will never let us down…..

The bible says that Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. He never leaves us or forsakes us. The battle is never too big for God. In fact, He is the fortress – our strong tower. We are able to run to Him and depend on Him to be who He says He is and to do what He says He will do. He is invincible, unable to be defeated. He is incapable of letting us down as long as our expectations are scriptural.

It would be foolish to put our trust in man and expect that we will never be disappointed. I have disappointed before and will likely disappoint again.

You, in fact, may be disappointed by the content of this blog post.

If you feel like your in the middle of the battle and no one has your back, look forward – Jesus is blazing the trail before you. We can always count on Him. He is a God of His word.

So true, so true. It is way to hard to even try to be perfect in this life. The shear fact that we are human, creatures of choice, propels us to think of our selves in almost all cases. That is why we must forsake the old man. We must die to self and sin. When we embrace the commandments of the Lord: “Love the Lord your God with all you heart, mind, soul, strength” and “To love your neighbor as yourself” we begin to realize that as long as we keep to His words we won’t fail. Will it be hard? You bet. However, He will help us to hold fast. Even though no attaboy or reward welcomes us, being counted upon is a great treasure in itself.

As warriors there is always room for improvement. There is always a hill to charge. An enemy to fight. An obstacle to overcome. We must remain united. Hold the line warriors, hold the line, because our families and those closest to us need us to. Keep pressing…keep moving forward.

Good word, bro.

  Thank the Lord for His grace! Whenever I try to do what’s right for the sake of doing whats right, I fail. My strength and my will are weak but it’s through His righteousness/grace/mercy that we can have hope of living a life pleasing to God.
  
  You’re right about embracing the commands of God. If we can walk in the spirit and not in the flesh, bringing every decision and every moment into subjection to God’s word and will for us, then again, we have hope.

I am guilty on both counts. Man, I hate it when someone drops the ball on me. I have little tolerance for them. However when I blow it and leave somebody in a lurch I want them to be all Jesus-like with me and forgive. I gotta get those two things together.

Props on the blog theme. Every time I come here you have been tweaking it and it looks good.

  Yeah man, I know where you’re coming from. Whenever I let someone down, there was obviously a really good reason. I mean come on, why else would it have happened? When someone else is guilty, though……
